My friend Rita came up with an idea for our small Century House quilters to stay in contact during this time of self isolation. We were going to make a block for each of the 11 members of the group.
Very soon into our social distancing signs like this came up on the quay.
This what my walk was like coming down to where the above sign was posted.
Looking back the other way you can see at least 1 or 2 people walking away.
Just after I took the picture of the sign 4 of New Westminster's finest came around the bend in the boardwalk. They were laughing because I took a photo which appears they are close but in fact they weren't. I thanked them for their service and they told me their uniforms help keep them safe.
Some people like my friend Rita are putting teddies in view for children to try and spot in our neighbourhood.
The weeping cherry tree was magnificent again this year.

As I came closer his daughter informed me it had taken a swim in the river.

I decided to pick fabrics from my wool collection and go a bit brighter than her choices.
The Pink Full Moon in April was lovely.

I also went rogue with my circles. I made some larger ones and did a random placement.

My friend Laura up on her roof patio. I phoned her and we drank our coffee and chatted until another friend happened to walk by.
Saw this pink dino, the next day hopefully he was back at home with his owner as he wasn't there any longer.

For Easter I finally gave Rita her birthday present. I decided after I got the threads I was missing to wait and give it to her then. Where my initials should be I put hers. I added the crescent moon and star my signature and very small beside the bottom leaf near her initials are Shh.
I finished my Warm Winter Woolens, it wont be framed for quite some time.
On April 14th I saw that Re-Up has reopened for take out only.
Warning that the building is closed to customers.
When your food is ready they come to the door and open it you pay and walk away.
They have the best BBQ locally. Hey its a ten minute walk from me.
Tre Galli has also opened for take out and have X marks the spot for social distancing.
I couldn't wait to get home.
One bite and I'm on my way. Side of coleslaw in the bag.
They changed the rules. We walk east along the boardwalk and west on the paved brick walk. Choke points we alternate. One of the overpasses they have expanded into the northbound lane for cyclists to give walkers more space so cars have to use the crossings to the east and west to head north.
Trimmed down my wool and ready to start stitching.

Day 6
Day 7 my friend Mari gave me the idea of the seedheads.
After almost a month Angelina's reopened for take out.
Eric squeezing into the shop to deliver some greens. this is where you pick up your food.
A quick show and tell, Clubhouse sandwich with a side salad and coffee.

Social distancing to exchange our house blocks.
Everyone brought a box of some sort and the blocks were placed by the makers.

Barry our lone male arriving late to pick his up. He met with Rita, Laura and I on Sunday morning as he had an appointment time changed. Happily he made it in time to say hi.
We have all sorts of skill levels within the group. White or cream backgrounds with Jello colours were what was recommended.
Barry the over achiever after making his house found an African hut pattern and made us each a set.
He also made the scrappy house with the flamingo door.
