Halloween Colours

Happy Halloween to you all, today I went for a drive to check out the colours of Halloween.  This Japanese Maple tree is just up the hill from where I live, what a great contrast to the yellow leaves behind and the blue sky.

 The red the maple leaves are just gorgeous on this tree down by the Fraser River.

 Hints of yellow amongst the red and orange.

 There were two of this bush, great contrast against the green.

 Mountain Ash leaves turning from green to orange.

 The yellow was just beautiful on this tree.

 The Japanese Maple tree at a local garden centre was just spectacular! 

 Back closer to home the leaves turning on this Elm tree.

 Some more spectacular colour with a Victorian house all decked out for the Trick or Treat children coming soon.

Splashes of colour on the west coast of Canada.... This is the view from my balcony looking over the waterfall in the courtyard of my condo. The maple is in front of my living room window.

I love the sounds of the waterfall throughout the year, some years it has frozen and it is weird not hearing the water splashing in the background.

This maple is in front of my bedroom window, it was replaced a few years ago and has not yet been topped like the majority of maples in our courtyard.

Often they say if you see a lot of berries on trees it indicates a hard winter, I love the orange colour of these mountain ash berries.

These maple leaves covered a parking lot today at one of my local quilt shops.

A few blocks away I found this amazing display of maple trees lining a residential street.

This tree almost looks electric in it's beautiful red!

The sign says it all. Even rain didn't spoil this day.

I decided to go for a walk this afternoon to check out some of the beautiful colour along the quay. Yesterday we had a rainstorm, and the sun decided to come out today, so everything looked newly washed.

This crow decided he wanted to get into the game.

This bush flowers throughout the winter.

The green leaves and bright red stems caught my eye, and then I noticed the deep blue berries.

These bright red leaves caught my eye, and then I realized some of the leaves looked like oak leaves and some like maple leaves. The flower was like a lilac/hydrangae.

I'm not sure what this tree is, the bark was peeling and the leaves almost look like a maple. But not quite.

The peeling bark has a wonderful colour to it.

Let's hope for some more wonderful November days like today.
