Sidetracked but back on track again.

I got sidetracked the other day making some birds for an upcoming swap with my Mary Lou Weidman on line swap group.  These guys are like peanuts, you can't eat/make only on.  I'm up to 18 and only need to send off 13.
But last night I got back on track and finished off SBOW number 2.  The two pink flowers not stitched will be added once the alternate block is made and they will have stems and some leaves added also.
Back to finish off my murder of crows and start another block to get to Mary Lou this week.  Enjoy your Sunday.

June finish and some BOW progress.

I managed for finish the appliqué June block just before the end of the month and have partially prepared the July one.

My second BOW is coming along nicely, it needs some pink flowers, leaves and embroidered stems to be added.

The pink flowers will extend onto the alternate block along with their stems and small leaves. The perch and opening to the birdhouse also need to be stitched down.

Here are the first two freebie blocks stitched. They will be trimmed down and made into snowball blocks eventually.

Here is the finished Be The Good as seen on Lisa Bongean's blog.

Waiting patiently for the next set of blocks to arrive.

Done!

Finished my first SBOW and decided to take a picture on a grey background d so you can see that the outer four leaves will cross over to the adjoining blocks.

They haven't been stitched down except where they are under the sunflowers. Each sunflower took almost an hour to stitch because of all the curves.

Now to piece the first alternate block and next background for the second appliqué block. I also have the freebie to stitch later today.

Summer Block of the Week Progress.

Friday evening I got my first mailing from Primitive Gatherings and I decided to trace off my patterns that evening for the first two blocks. Saturday afternoon I prepped and cut out my wools. Monday I decided to piece my first block to be ready to place my wool appliqué.

As you can see the outer leaves will cross over to the next blocks so they are not stitched down. Last evening I stitched down all my stems and most of the leaves and the wonderful black bird. There are still some small star flowers that also need to be added but I want to do the larger pieces first.

Today I'm going to finish my leaves and sunflowers and go onto the star flowers and embroidered stems. Then to piece the second appliqué block and pieced alternate block. This is a fun summer project, looking forward to the next mailing of four blocks already.
