Stacy West from Buttermilk Basin has a Mystery BOM featuring wool. Here is my January block that I've already shared. Stacy is releasing her patterns on the 15th of each month.
Here is the February block. I decided to use the same background for all my blocks and carry over wool from one month to another. The blocks side by side showing the two greens and the pineapple wool fabrics being used in both blocks. I introduced a turquoise plaid wool and the pink as new colours. Stacy is a wonderful designer and you can still download her patterns through her blog. She also sells some kits that sell out very quickly!
I recently joined a Facebook Wool Applique group and this was the February Ornament of the Month designed by Trish Harriman from Attic Heirlooms she offers the OOM as a freebie for that month along with a kit. If you miss the freebie you can also purchase it via the BOM link.
Another Ornament of the Month freebie I found is from Bunny Hill Designs I decided not to make the ornament but to applique it onto a background instead. Here is my January Angel.
Here is the February Bluebird and Heart. The patterns can be found under their "free" tab called Snow Happy Hearts on their blog. They are doing theirs all in cotton, I'm using wool for the hearts and snowmen on a cotton background.
Here are my two hearts side by side, there is a bit of variation in the two red background hearts and I used a Buggy Barn grey/blue star basics from Henry Glass as a background.
A bit of February whimsy for you, I went down to Granville Island last Thursday to pick up a BOM and each time I go there I want to take a picture of the cement factory storage units but forget. Well here you go, are these not a fun way to disguise some units. At Christmas they decorated their trucks up with Christmas lights. In the lower right hand corner you can see the red cement truck with gold/yellow dots, the cab is a bright blue. What wonderful creativity in an unexpected spot!
