Fozzie and Sawyer are new friends. Fozzie is about 12 years old and Sawyer was about 12 1/2 weeks old when this picture was taken in May. Sawyer is a black Labrador who has a beautiful disposition.

This picture of Sawyer was taken in July when he was about 4 1/2 months old. My brother is trying to get a good pose for my picture.

He loves to go into his wading pool to retrieve toys and cool off. When they take him hiking he goes swimming in a local lake.

Sawyer has out grown Fozzie already! Fozzie is a miniature poodle, but still rules the roost.

Every year we have some ducks nest, I thought I'd missed the babies this year, but last night I heard them out with their mom. She spotted me on my balcony trying to get some pictures. She doubled back to collect the rest of her brood.

If you look closely you will see 7 ducklings up on the top and two below on the stairs. The two never did make it up to the top, everyone had to come down to join them.

They decided to head over to the pool.

We've had ducks nesting in our courtyard for at least 8 years.

First one and then the rest decided to jump into the pool.

Mom kept a watchful eye until everyone was in the water.

Then she jumped in and joined them for a swim. They headed over to the overhanging flowers and eventually slipped back into the garden to their nest.

Fireworks on the quay for the first night of Fraserfest on Friday night. A festival in New Westminster to celebrate the Fraser River. The river and surrounding area was lit up by the colourful display.

I love the ellipse shape of this firework.

The bright orb in the right lower corner is actually the full moon! I was hand holding my camera causing the double image.

Once again you can see the full moon in the lower right corner.

The grand finale was very colourful and loud. You can see the moon clearer because of all the light from the fireworks.

Sunday afternoon the work boats of the Fraser came out for a parade. There were big tugs and small all decked out with colourful flags flying as they came up the river towards the quay.

These three were playing to see who was the strongest.

This was the colourful logo designed for this year's celebration.

Here comes a game of chicken between a pirate ship on the left and the port patrol on the right!

They came very close to each other without touching or swamping the other.

They safely passed each other.

The spray from hitting the wake almost caused you to loose sight of the boat for a moment.

Canada Day Fireworks at the Quay! Tonight for the first time the fireworks were right across the river from my condo! Usually they are farther upriver across from the Quay Market. They started off slowly and then started to build.

Then they got quite loud and very colourful.

This one reminds me of a red daisy or a poppy.

The paddlewheeler was out with sightseers enjoying the show. It lasted about 20 minutes. The mayor told me that this may be the permanent home as the barge we used to rent costs about $5-10,000!

Today is a lovely warm sunny Summer day, a great day for a BBQ. Fireworks are happening later tonight.

Creative idea! This fox is made of recycled bicycle parts. I took the picture along the Fox River in St. Charles, Illinois in May 2005.

Just after I got home in May I went walking and enjoying the flowers along the Quay. The colours are just amazing to enjoy.

They were looking beautiful, the gardeners do a wonderful job of mixing the varieties of bulbs.

They also have fun with other Spring flowers to add a sparkle of colour.

I love the cool blue flowers with the warm pink above.

These poor ones are a bit wind-blown.

I love how this is a great cross-section of the tulip. I just happened upon this specimen.

What a great example of complimentary colours.

This Dogwood tree was desperately trying to put out some blooms in the wet, cold Spring weather we've been having.

Isn't this a pretty flower?

Pink tulips, one of my favourite colours and the most traditional shape when you think of tulips.

Three tugs racing along the river, the first one is actually towing the other two.

Each year our city has the Hyack Festival, they have an amusement park set up in Queens Park for all to enjoy.

It was a bright sunny, but very windy day, as you can see by the flags blowing.

A few blocks away I found this lovely dogwood in bloom.

We drove out of Las Vegas heading west along I-15 and into California. We stopped in Baker and had a fresh strawberry milkshake at the Mad Greek. Just across the street you can see the world's largest thermometer.

You can see the dry Silver Lake with the mountains in the background.

Joshua Trees dot the landscape in this area, they are found in the Mojave desert in California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada at 2,000'-6,000'.

This tree was some blooms on it. They often become very top heavy and fall over.

Here is a corner of Lake Shasta.

I found a road that took us under the bridge along I-5 in the Lake Shasta area.

Mount Shasta is an amazing site, this is a view from Weeds, California.

A favourite stop along the I-5 in Springfield, Oregon at the antique shop called "At Ruthie B's". They serve a lovely tomato basil soup, you can have lunch in one of the display rooms.

This was a pretty pink dogwood that we found in full bloom along the way. Our next stop was home.
