Time is running out on 2014.

This was my sunset tonight and it now is just a lovely deep pink in the sky.  Just below freezing so a great evening to spend inside warm and cozy.

Time is running out to wish you a Happy New Year's Eve; be safe in what you do next year.  I'll be sewing!

Happy Boxing Day.

Several years ago I stitched three of these...one for my mom-this one, one for my sister-in-law and one for me. Mine has yet to be framed of course.

Christmas light tour of New Westminster B.C.

Sunday night I took my mom for a tour of some of the lights in the city where we live. A friend told me of this house not far from mom's condo. This is just the front window.

The other side of the house is Rudolph!

Here is the whole yard.

Across the street is this display.

Another lovely display.

I love trees done up in white lights.

We drove through the neighbourhood where some of the heritage houses were decorated.

This next photo was taken with my I-Pod and the next with my camera.

Sometimes using a SLR doesn't give the effect you want...be flexible.

In the Uptown intersection of 6th Street and 6th Avenue.

On the other side of the street.

Looking across the intersection at the mall, I actually took this picture last year confession time.

Then we headed Downtown along Columbia Street.

Garlands of lights and snowflakes in trees.

New Westminster is also called the Royal City hence the crown display across the street.

Across from condo I watch this display each evening.

And this one.

Walking along the quay...

Simple but lovely..

Love the reflection in the upper window.

These are about 3 foot Christmas bulbs...cool eh?

Lots of time and patience.

The condo beside mine and the tower across the street behind,

My friend Rita put a polar bear in her garden.

May the lights of Christmas bring joy and warmth to your heart. Merry Christmas.

Welcome Winter Soltice!

I took this picture in 2012 just after the winter solstice and I think it reflects the feeling of the season.

My cute snowflake Teddy I made by hand many years ago she has Spring, Summer and Autumn friends.

A quilt I spotted in a shop many years ago for inspiration.

One of my snowmen I made last year.

A larger one.

Blurred lights of a friend's Christmas tree.

Last year we had snow...this year not so lucky.

Blurred lights of our gazebo Christmas tree.

Rita's Christmas tree banner.

Ahh..snow..

Gifts to my mom several years ago that I made.

Winter banner I made last year.

Blue Heron along the frozen river.

Winter lights.

Snowflakes, a favourite of mine.

Lovely angel.

Snowman brigade.

Happy Santa.

Another snowflake for my collection.

And a whimsical snowman.

Enjoy the shortest day of the year, the days are getting longer now.

You better be good...

Because Santa Claus is coming to town...

On Sunday I took my mom to downtown Vancouver to look at some of the Christmas lights. While driving up Water Street in Gastown I managed to get this picture of the Harbour Centre Christmas tree agains the darkening sky while stopped at a light.

Our four condo lobbies have trees on display. I plan on going walking on evening to get some more pictures in my neighbourhood.
