Hexagon projects revealed....and Happy Father's Day.

Remember the different size hexagons I shared a bit ago?
Well I had some fun figuring out how to make these little boxes they all nest together, but my plan is to put some of the papers in one the fabric in another and thread etc. in another.
I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to close them but love how they coordinate with my Bionic Gear Bag that I revealed HERE.
In fact I have a couple of hexagon cases, one a sewing basket and another fits my Mylar hexagon shapes along with some diamond and triangle shapes all in one place.
I know this isn't a hexagon, but it was inspiration for what is inside.  My friend Debbie Matthews gifted me with this little sewing basket.
I was going through a scrap basket and found the strawberry and woven basket fabric which reminded me of the sewing case.
Sew I made this cute little hexagon pincushion.
The other side; I found this pattern at Victoriana Quilt Designs HERE. I think my hexagon was 1/2".
Then I decided on another hexagon project I found and decided to use the same fabrics I used to make my English Paper Piecing Travel Kit HERE.
Then I found another pattern for a Hexagon Pincushion Caddy HERE.  I think I was looking for the strawberry hexagon pincushion site again and found it via Google.
I over stuffed it a bit but I like how I managed to feature the print on this Valerie Wells fabric.
 Inside view.
Filled with a few notions and scissors.
 Beside the EPP Travel Kit.
When I was in Houston last year I got some 1/4" and 3/8" papers to join some old 1/2" ones.
A favourite picture of my dad taken probably back in the sixties, when it was still alright to be seen smoking in public. He always had a twinkle in his eyes. In the background you can see two children on a horse with a woman running beside.  My younger brother is on the dark horse and a girl cousin in front.  We had many a fun day riding those horses, when you were older you got to go down a steep gully on your own.
Here I am arriving someplace with my own view head and shoulders above dad.
Another favourite picture at my grandfather's farm in Cabri Saskatchewan.  Dad and his four brothers and two sisters grew up on the farm before moving away.  Happy Father's Day Dad, I still miss your twinkling eyes.

You've got a great collection of different hexie containers, pincushions and caddy too. I like the hexie boxes you've made. The pincusion with the strawberry on it was one of the first things I learnt to sew, I made heaps of them when I was little with all sorts of scraps. It's fun to see old family photos.

A lovely tribute to your dad! I also enjoyed seeing all your hexie projects! They looked difficult!

I love all your hexie projects! Those little nesting hexie boxes are such fun!

Lovely tribute to your father. Somewhere in the photo albums at my parents place is a photo of my and my father that looks very much like the last photo in your post.
