First weekend of Autumn

While at Tanglebank Quilt Show I found this love rainbow selection of wool fabrics for my wool crazy sewing project. 

 These wool fabrics I found while in Oregon at a couple of different locations.

 Today I went for a walk and found the beauty berry plant.  This is the first time I've found it with the leaves still on and the berries so small.

 I think our colours this year will be amazing due to all the sunshine we had in August.

 This is my favourite oak leaf hydrangea.

 The zinnias are still blooming.

 This salmon colour is so pretty.  I may have to design one in wool.

 The colours of fall are so amazing.

 This magenta grass almost looks neon.

 It rained in the night and the water droplets were hanging onto to some of the plants.

Tanglebank Garden Quilt Show 2010

Tanglebank Gardens hosted the second Quilt Show featuring four local Canadian Designs.  Dougal Ann Walker of the Freckles Collection designed this quilt called Angels Amongst Us.  She also has an applique version of this quilt.

Cheryl Wall of Country Quilts designed the Pumpkin and Crow table runner and the Pumpkin and Crow piece sitting on top.

This rose looks like someone was interrupted while it was being painted.

The bees were having a late summer feast.

Now I know my ABC's by Cheryl Wall.  Once again for the second year the day was perfect for viewing quilts, taking pictures, meeting friends and shopping.  I look forward to attending this show again next year in this beautiful setting.  Congratulations to all involved with this wonderful show.

Wool Crazy new project, a thank you and floral inspirations.

Somehow these images flipped and one of the duplicated, after laying down my wools and basting I've started doing some crazy stitching.

I'm hoping to update this every few days to help see the process of making this project.  First I laid down various wools on a piece of osnaburg and then basted them down. 

  

This is a thank you from a patient and her husband.  I was very surprised by this lovely gesture.

The succulents are in bloom, don't you like the lovely colours of this one?

When I first stopped to look at this bloom I thought the blue petals were from another flower that had blown into the spiky petals. 

The yellow edge to these red flowers are very eye catching.

Red and green are complimentary on the colour wheel, and they are shown well on opposite sides of this plant's leaves.

The sprinklers shut off just before I came for my walk, and some of the water droplets made the flowers sparkle.

Even though this leaf is starting to dry, the texture of it along with the water droplets is very pleasing.

This plant makes me want to have a mocha and coffee with a bit of whipped cream.

This is one of my favourite succulents, it comes in a darker red/maroon colour.

More progress on our Wool Crazy round robin. Sandi's Fall themed piece has some new friends done by Debbie. Here is a closer picture of the piece. There is a black cat stitched with violet pink thread sitting on top of the pumpkin. The Scarecrow Lady is rather elegant don't you think?

You can see a cat hitched a ride along and there is a ghost coming out of the pumpkins to play.

Debbie added an apple tree to Ethel's Mr. McGarrity's Garden.

Did you spot the nest of birds in the tree along with the rabbit hiding in the grass?

Debbie added a butterfly along with flowers on mine.

I love the mouse peeking out of the bottom leaves of the left flower and the caterpillar button she added.
