What am I working on?

I decided to sign up for a collaboration between Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings and Stacy West of Buttermilk Basin Designs. It is called A Year In Stitches. So far I've only worked on the wool appliqué. Each month you get to make two 12" blocks. One pieced spools designed by Lisa and the second is a wool block by Stacy.

I still need to stitch Be Mine on the banner and finish stitching the stem over the top of the banner.

I'm currently working on the March block, I choose not to use fusible web on my wool but whip stitch with wool thread and then add the decorative buttonhole in perle cotton later. (I will use fusible if the felted wool is a looser weave to add stability,).

My RA has been acting up and I find it difficult to use my rotary cutter right now, but soon I hop to have the first two spool blocks sewn.

Here is a picture of the work in progress thanks to Primitive Gatherings. If you want to see the information check out www.primitivegatherings.us and go to the BOM tab.

I really like how lisa made it into one piece. Sorry you are having issues.

Fun blocks but I bet so far your favorite is the snowman of January. ;-) Take care and hope your RA flares back down into submission.

You and I must have similar tastes! I'm working on that same BOM, although I got mine from a different shop and am just getting the wool blocks from them. They were supposed to be made into a calendar, but I think I'll finish mine more like the Primitive Gatherings quilt. Hope your RA is better now and you can get back to stitching!
