Gwennie Inspired Medallion Option...

Then on Saturday morning I went to one of my favourite fabric shops and pulled these solids and a black white and grey print to come home and play with.
I matched the colours into two groups and then cut out two rectangles of each colour.
With the first group I did some Gwenie inspired baskets that were paired in this manner.
And the second group paired this way. Both rectangles are about 8" x 16" unfinished.
So I'm going to have fun and play with all three to begin with and who knows maybe have three very different looking quilts.  I'm linking with the party over at Humble Quilts. You can either click on the button on the top right of my blog or here!

Your applique basket block is very pretty. The pieced blocks very contemporary. I look forward to seeing what you do with the different medallions you have made. The applique block will be very different in style from the other two.

You really will have two different types of quilts (or three!). I like all your medallion starts. The solid color ones remind me of sand pails that get taken to the beach.

I love both the "looks" - have fun! I too am contemplating doing two although my second center isn't *quite* finished ;).

I am pretty impressed that you're making more than one quilt, and that they are all amazing. The baskets remind me Warhol's prints.

Your applique block is very beautiful. I'm partial to the wild and crazy baskets in solids though! It will be fun to watch what you do with this QAL.

I can't make up my mind, so I have two blocks to start with.

I love them all, but I like the first one the best. The other two are going to be fun to play with, too, though, and I know you'll make something wonderful.

I like your first basket best, with the flowers and leaves, but I have to admit that your other baskets do have a Gwen-like look about them. I'm looking forward to seeing your baskets after the first borders are added.
